Bristol Tours takes pride in its role as a socially responsible company.
While our business is to provide a top quality and affordable charter bus
service, we believe we can achieve that while being a leader in the fair
treatment of our associates and thoughtful consideration of our environment
and community. Here are some of the ways we seek to achieve this:
A Responsible Employer
Bristol Tours has a "liveable wage" policy. This means that the pay rate to
our employees meets or exceeds the rate defined for this community as
sufficient on a full-time basis to meet the basic living needs of our employees.
Bristol Tours provides benefits programs including health care to all
employees working at least half time. The company currently pays 90% of the
premium cost for health coverage.
An Environmental Leader
In 2005 Bristol Tours pioneered the use in Vermont of biodiesel fuel for its
motorcoach fleet. We continue to be the biodiesel leader in the Northeast
coach industry.
Our maintenance facility and offices are both heated using recycled engine oil
from our coaches. In addition we make extensive use of recycled office
products wherever possible.
We continue to work on education and driver training to reduce unnecessary
fuel consumption (due to excessive engine idling) consistent with local laws and
customer safety and comfort.
